Lasting change- are you ready?

You have probably felt stuck in life at some point — maybe from an unstimulating job, an unfulfilling relationship, or just a general sense of indifference. You might see the destination bright in your mind, but you’re not quite sure how to get there. Or you have no idea what is your destination, you just feel stuck and want things to change.


Wanting change is the first step in any transformation. But desire without action doesn’t work. You need practical steps to make it happen.

It's easy to make promises to yourself and others – and then break them. It is tempting to dream about change and the positive effects it will bring - and not to take a single step in its direction.


Making changes is not easy, and success is not just a matter of will. How often have you heard that if you just want to, anything is possible? You may blame yourself for not having enough willpower, perseverance, or being too comfortable to make significant changes in life.

My journey

I'm Minna Salminen, a trained Health Coach and a Holistic Beauty Therapist. I was thirty when I first got exhausted. I had been an entrepreneur for seven years in my dream profession as a beautician. I enjoyed my work, meeting customers and learning new things – but the responsibility associated with entrepreneurship and my own inability to ask for the right kind of help got the upper hand. In addition to burnout, I experienced anxiety and despair with myself: I no longer knew who I was and whose life I was living. Relationships were difficult, I experienced a sense of worthlessness and constant anxiety. My joy of life was gone. It was the beginning of a slow journey to myself. I realized that something had to change.


That something was me. This was the beginning of my own transformation into a more meaningful life and that's the journey I'm still on.


For the past four years, I have been coaching people in different life changes. For me, coaching is becoming aware of your mind, thoughts, habits and beliefs that might be holding you back. I want to help people find their way back to their own vitality by becoming aware of themselves. We experience stress individually. We endure pressure for a long time, and we are tenacious and conscientious. We also tend to start considering abnormal conditions normal even though they aren't. I want to help all those who are in the same situation as I once was: lost in the midst of their own lives.


My own journey began when I became exhausted under the pressure of life. While it served as the starting point for my transformation, you don't have to expect a similar experience. You can put yourself first now. Learn to listen, appreciate and love yourself, your mind and your body. For you are enough just as you are!

Skin

Skin is the largest organ of the human body with its own ecosystem of microbes (“skin microbiome”) that are in constant interaction with our gut, our immune function, our hormones, and more. So it’s more accurate to view chronic skin issues as a an “alarm” going off to tell us that our gut, our immune function, or our hormones, or some other major body system isn’t functioning optimally.


Since skin is on the surface of our bodies, many people assume that all skin problems are a result of external factors, and that just applying topical creams and lotions externally is the best way to improve their skin. But that’s just not the case.


It’s fine to apply products topically to protect and soothe the skin. But treating symptoms with topical treatments alone isn’t going to fix the source of our skin problems; it requires a more holistic approach.


What is holistic skin care?


Skin concerns such as redness, rosacea, acne, eczema, etcetera all begin inside of the body. And often times as consequence of the digestive tract, or due to high stress levels. The traditional approach of following a specific skin treatment only more often than not results ineffective or produces only short term relief.


Holistic skin care is an ancient practice that involves treating the skin in a “whole” body care approach. It’s an all-inclusive approach to a healthy body, mind and spirit that can result in healthy radiant skin. Addressing skin care is deeper than the surface needs of the skin. There are many factors that can cause a breakout to include diet, hormonal imbalances, stress levels, physical activity, menstrual cycles, bowel movements and others. All of these factors impact the flow of energy within the body. If your energy is blocked, it’s not flowing freely which can cause the body and skin to have an inflamed response.

What about Skin Aging?

Many factors affect the state of your Skin Aging - stress, physcial and emotional trauma, hormone imbalance, choices in nutrition, current and past illnesses, medications and supplements, daily environment, and more.


You've probably experienced this when you used a skin care product or treatment and the skin problem came back after a few weeks or months.


Your face is like a mirror for what is going on inside your body and mind; emotionally, psychologically and physically.


Our bodies and our face hold on to negative or repressed emotions with any type of trauma we’ve experienced. It can get stuck in our tissues for years. This can cause many health concerns and dictate the way we age.


You look tired” or “You don’t look like yourself lately,” can be hard to hear, but they could be a signpost that your face is storing trauma and stress.

Facial tension is not as talked about as making you look old, but in fact it does have a big impact on the appearance of your face.


It takes a long time to accumulate tension in the face before you feel the pain and see symptoms of aging.


The masseter, or jaw muscle, is the third strongest muscle, it performs like a shock absorber. It can store a lot of tension before you feel any discomfort.


All of your muscles have a tendency to tense and get shorter as we age. Muscle shortening is the reason why old people often suffer from poor posture. Your facial muscles suffer from shortening, too.


As long as your facial muscles are tense and shortened, they’ll continue to stretch and stress your ligaments and skin tissue.

Finding the root cause that might be your stress, emotions, gut etc. we find the way to heal your skin. Before we meet I need you to submit intake form and makeup free photos. This allows me to get familiar with your skin and overall idea of your internal and external factors.
